Oculus Classic Amber

Black frame · Amber polarized lens

Amber is the most useful lens colour in a place this bright. It filters blue light before it reaches you, so edges sharpen and contrast warms. The polarizing layer takes out the horizontal light bouncing off asphalt, water and a white bonnet at noon, which is the light that makes you squint.

Drag to see what amber does

Blue light goes first, so contrast warms and edges sharpen. The polarizing layer takes the bounce off the road.

A simulation of the tint, not a photograph through the lens. Real-world colour shifts with the light you are standing in.

A medium fit. It sits the same way on oval, square and heart-shaped faces, which is the point of spending years on one shape.

Wears with anything

A kandura, a linen shirt on the water, a suit on a Tuesday. The frame does not argue with any of them.

Why one frame

Most eyewear brands answer the question with volume. Forty frames, four colourways each, and the hope that something fits.

We went the other way. One shape, drawn and redrawn until the bridge sat right on a wide nose and a narrow one, the temples held without pressure after six hours, and the tint worked at noon and at six.

That took longer than a catalogue would have. It also means there is nothing here to choose between.

Questions

Anything not covered here, write to us and a person answers.

Are the lenses polarized?

Yes. A polarizing filter sits inside the lens and cancels the horizontal light that bounces off asphalt, water and bonnets. That is the glare that makes you squint at two in the afternoon. UV400 blocks the full ultraviolet range on top of that.

Will these fit my face?

The Classic is a medium fit: 47 mm lens, 21 mm bridge, 145 mm temple. That range suits most oval, square and heart-shaped faces. If your current sunglasses measure within about 3 mm of those numbers, these will sit the same way.

How long does delivery take?

Orders placed before 2 pm leave Dubai the same working day. Delivery is one to two working days across the UAE and two to five working days elsewhere in the GCC. You get a tracking link when the parcel is collected.

Nothing to choose between.
